DoorDash Apologizes To Dashers For Underpaying Or Paying Them Late In $131.5M Settlement: “We Messed Up”

New York City just handed down one of the biggest checks in labor enforcement history, and DoorDash had no choice but to own up to it. Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection announced Tuesday that DoorDash will pay at least $131.5 million to settle a city investigation that found the delivery giant failed to properly pay more than 260,000 workers. A quarter million people, pedaling bikes and riding mopeds through rain, snow, and NYC traffic to get your food to your door all got shorted.
