2026 NFL betting preview, odds: My favorite bets for Coach of the Year

Timing is everything in the Coach of the Year Award and the betting market reflects that, but there are seismic shifts, and surprises, each season. The head coach tends to get credit for things that happen under his watch even if he had little to do with it — like Drake Maye’s development under offensive coordinator Josh McDaniel, making it possible that someone down the oddsboard takes it. The Jaguars went from four wins to four losses, but that wasn’t quite as impressive as the Patriots going from 4-13 to 14-3.
